Construction of the Bear Creek Phase II project was similar to Phase I yet quite unique in several ways. Construction needed to take place while the existing Phase I facility was open for business as a fully functioning resort. This required our on-site project team to take extra precautions in providing safe passage for patrons around the construction areas.

Another challenge which our teams needed to overcome was the change in elevations where the new building and parking lots were to be located. This dictated deep excavations and tall concrete retaining walls to be installed.

As with the Phase I project, Phase II also had a very aggressive construction schedule. This time though it was 12 months, but given the challenges it was going to require all the same discipline and coordination from everyone involved to complete the project on time.

Construction started in November so when winter hit, we were right in the thick of concrete foundations, steel erection and setting panels for the hotel. Winter also meant an increased daily patron count and the elimination of any access or lay down on the slope side of the building, meaning once the crane was set in place, it was there until spring.

The project consisted of 65 additional hotel rooms, banquet facilities, board rooms, the Trails End Café, a fitness room, the Spa at Bear Creek, outdoor year round pool and corporate office space. Interior finishes matched Phase I both in materials and quality.

Again the project was delivered on-time and on budget with the highest regard for fit and finish.
